You’ll begin exploring Fes, known as “the Spiritual City of Morocco”. You’ll spend the morning delving into the Medina, visiting numerous sites of cultural and historical interest including the famous Al Karaouine Mosque and University, the iconic Tanneries, and the Najjarine Fountain.
Taking after lunch, we’ll drive exterior the Medina to see the Regal Royal residence door, walk through the Jewish quarter known as the Mellah, and at that point visit a ceramics cooperative. In the evening, we’ll drive to one of the adjacent posts to encounter an astonishing all-encompassing view ignoring the whole Medina of Fes. For the night, your accommodation will be in an authentic riad located right in the heart of the old Medina.
After breakfast, we leave Fes behind and head south toward the Middle Atlas Mountains. Our first stop is Ifrane, often referred to as the “Switzerland of Morocco,” famous for its Alpine-style architecture and crisp mountain air. Moving forward, we visit the lush Cedar Forest of Azrou, where you can see and interact with friendly wild Barbary macaques.
Following a lunch stop in Midelt, we descend into the breathtaking Ziz Valley, admiring its vast palm groves and dramatic rock canyons. In the late afternoon, we arrive at the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi in Merzouga. You will mount camels for a scenic trek across the sand dunes during sunset, arriving at your luxury desert camp for a night of local dining, drumming around the campfire, and stargazing.
Wake up early to catch a mesmerizing Saharan sunrise over the dunes before enjoying breakfast. Today is dedicated to discovering the secrets of the desert region. We begin with a visit to Khamlia village to listen to authentic Gnawa music performed by local musicians whose heritage traces back to Sub-Saharan Africa.
Afterward, we venture off-road to visit a traditional nomadic family living in a woven tent, gaining insight into their daily life and culture over a cup of mint tea. We’ll enjoy a local lunch featuring traditional Berber Pizza in a nearby village, then explore the ancient fossil quarries or the vibrant traditional market of Rissani. By late afternoon, we return to your desert hotel to relax by the pool and enjoy dinner under the stars.
After breakfast at your hotel, we set off toward the historic town of Rissani, walking through its bustling authentic souk. We then drive west toward the Todra Gorges, where towering limestone cliffs drop up to 300 meters into a peaceful riverbed. You will have time to walk through the canyon and take in the dramatic natural scenery.
In the afternoon, we continue along the famous “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs,” driving into the picturesque Dades Valley. We will stop to admire the curious rock formations known as the “Monkey Fingers” and navigate the famous winding road of the Dades Gorge. Dinner and overnight accommodation will be in a charming local riad in the valley.
Our journey continues through the fragrant Valley of the Roses (Kelaat M’Gouna) toward Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa.” Here, we can stop to view the historic Kasbah Taourirt or the famous film studios. Next, we head to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Benhaddou, a celebrated fortified earthen village that has served as the backdrop for blockbuster films like Gladiator and Game of Thrones.
After lunch overlooking the historic kasbah, we cross the High Atlas Mountains via the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260m altitude), offering panoramic views of Berber villages clinging to the mountainsides. We arrive in Marrakech by early evening and check into your authentic riad in the old Medina.
You’ll spend the day discovering Marrakech, known as the “Red City.” In the morning, a local guide will walk you through the rich history of the Medina, visiting iconic landmarks such as the Koutoubia Mosque minaret, the ornate Bahia Palace, and the historical Saadian Tombs.
In the afternoon, you’ll visit the striking Majorelle Garden and Yves Saint Laurent area, followed by a stroll through the bustling Medina souks packed with handcrafted goods. As evening approaches, experience the magical atmosphere of Jemaa el-Fnaa square with its street performers, musicians, and food stalls. Finally, we will transfer you to Marrakech Menara Airport (RAK) or your preferred drop-off point to conclude your tour.
